The Best Cheap Gaming Chairs (Under $100)

These are your best gaming chairs under $100.

1. Homall Racing Style Gaming Chair

We want to level with you….there were so many remarkable features from the Homall gaming chair we found it difficult to condense it down to a small review. In fact, we could easily make this chair numbers one through five on the list.

First, this chair has some serious style to it, an extremely important feature to compliment any game space. The chair itself comes in four different colors, and is crafted from a high quality polyurethane leather material.

This lends itself to anti-oxidation, elasticity, resiliency and service life, which means the chair will last longer and look great the entire time.

This chair is on another level (literally) as far as comfort is concerned; it’s easily the most comfy model we tested. Seriously, it felt like we were sitting in Lakitu’s Cloud. It’s packed with high density shaping foam, which goes a long way aiding in comfort. An adjustable headrest and lumbar support pillows make sure you’re not slouching through gameplay, which is by far the #1 cause of long-term spinal issues.

This chair is definitely made for everyone; it holds up to 300 lbs., more than any of the other models we reviewed. In addition to that, seat height can be adjusted as well, making this chair a winner for tall and shorter gamers alike. We let a friend of ours who is well over six feet tall give this chair a test drive, and he had the same level of comfort we did, despite being 8 inches taller (lucky guy!).

This chair also gets completely horizontal (180-degree recline!). Seriously, you can lie completely back while you’re playing if you choose to, and you can easily take a nap in the chair in between playing. And by nap we mean pass out for 6 hours.

         Pros

  • Supports up to 300 lbs. capacity
  • One-year warranty
  • Good for gamers of all sizes
  • thumbs-up
Polyurethane leather makes the chair easy to clean and maintain
  • thumbs-up
Full recline function allows maximum comfort for everyone
  • thumbs-up
The most comfortable model we tried

Cons

  • Arm rests cannot be adjusted

2. OFM Essentials Racing Style Gaming Chair

This chair punches as much above its weight class as Little Mac on the World Circuit of Super Punch Out. That is, it tremendously outperforms its price tag.

The OFM Essentials chair is, quite obviously, a racing style chair. That makes it incredibly ergonomic. The chair is equipped with contoured segmented padding, an integrated padded headrest, and padded armrests. All provide quality lumbar and head support for any long-lasting game run.

Style is absolutely a huge aspect of this chair – it feels like you’re racing in your own custom bucket seat straight out of Mario Kart. The SofThread Leather covering blends beautifully with contrasting colored mesh upholstery, really giving each chair a unique, lustrous look.

OFM does an excellent job of outlining exactly what you’re going to get with their gaming chair. Each one has been tilt tested over 100,000 times, so there’s no fear of tilt while you’re, quite literally, on tilt. Their casters are rated to roll for over 40 miles, a welcome bonus for those of us that can’t keep still while owning people online.

It’s got a 250 lb. weight capacity, slightly less than the top-performing chair in this group, but still sturdy enough to support most gamers. Something that really sets this chair apart from its competitors is the OFM Limited Lifetime warranty, which means a full replacement on any and all rage quits.

           Pros

  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Flip up armrests
  • Extremely stylish, ergonomic design
  • thumbs-up
Segmented padding delivers an incredible level of comfort while gaming

        Cons

  • No full recline option
  • thumbs-down
    Assembly required

3. FURMAX Ergonomic Racing Chair

A lot of people think you need to break the bank to get a quality gaming chair or spend AT LEAST $100. To those people we say, WRONG! Seriously, this chair came in with a retail price below $70, the most inexpensive chair we reviewed here.

This chair is for the no nonsense gamer that wants to get right down to business diving into their favorite virtual world. Its pretty basic but effective, and with high-quality construction, that makes it the best budget gaming chair we reviewed.

This chair is extremely, extremely breathable; it’ll keep you cool no matter how long you’re playing.

Personally, we loved this feature, as I’m a guy that radiates a LOT of warmth while I’m in the heat of battle. And as any gamer will tell you, it’s important to keep a cool head while you’re playing. The cutting combination of polyurethane mesh and leather allows for well-circulated airflow during gameplay, a welcome feature.

Despite being a pretty cheap gaming chair, it does not sacrifice quality. Actually, it’s the opposite. The chair can hold up to 280 lbs., the second highest capacity of the chairs we’ve reviewed. It sits on a five-star base equipped with 360-degree wheels, so it’s easy to go mobile. Another great feature here are the polyurethane casters on the wheels, they go a long way in preventing your floor from getting scratched up during gameplay.

         Pros

  • Sturdy design with good weight capacity
  • Extremely cheap and affordable
  • Polyurethane casters stop the chair from scratching your floor
  • thumbs-up
Ergonomic design provides increased comfort and breathability while gaming

      Cons

  • No warranty
  • thumbs-down
    Lack of a tilt function

4. Flash Furniture Mid-Back Mesh Chair

This chair advertises itself as a “task chair”, so it wouldn’t exclusively be considered a gaming chair. Its price tag was also a bit higher than the other models reviewed here. It’s a great chair for someone looking for comfort and style in their game space.

Despite the cost, we thought it got the job done, and was pretty comfortable at the same time. It’s especially useful for people that run into back and body problems while gaming.

First and foremost, there are a ton of color and customization options to choose from.

Everything from neon blue to bright pink is available, so it won’t be hard to blend this chair into any sort of gaming space. We was partial to the lime green color myself.

The chair is made from a breathable mesh material; so again, keeping cool is at the top of the priority list. The design of the chair itself definitely aids in support and comfort. It’s a mid-back type of chair, so your middle to upper back will be well supported while playing.

We personally liked the waterfall edge the front of the seat came with. It took a lot of pressure off my lower legs and kept them from falling asleep during a long gaming session. The armrests are also removable, so if you’d like a little bit of extra space while sitting, it’s easily accomplished.

Pros

  • Over 10 different colors, lots of customization options
  • Triple paddle control mechanism adjusts seat height, tilt angle, and seat height
  • Height adjustable padded armrests

      Cons

  • Mic monitoring and sidetone control could be better

What to Look For When Buying a Cheap Gaming Chair?

Listen, shopping for a reasonably priced gaming chair can be overwhelming. The first time we typed “cheap gaming chair” into Google, we were absolutely blindsided by the amount of products that got thrown my way. It was like walking into a straight up ambush on a Call of Duty map. We’re here to tell you that we survived, and so can you.

There are a TON of factors you should consider when you’re thinking about purchasing a gaming chair. We’ve taken the guesswork out of the equation for you, and came up with a list of the most important factors to consider when you’re thinking about purchasing a gaming chair, no matter what your budget may be.

Material – To me, this is probably the most important factor to consider. You’ll be spending a lot of time gaming in your chair, and you need to be comfortable while you’re doing it. The manufacturer should be providing a materials list for any chair you may be considering buying. Look for something that incorporates both leather/bonded leather and mesh material. Cloth and fabric will trap heat (and even worse, smells) and don’t hold up nearly as well as these other materials.

Value – Again, a very important factor. Hearing the word “value” may sound silly, as we’re all clearly looking for value when we make a purchase. In this case though, you’ve seen that you don’t necessarily need to drop $300 to get yourself a respectable gaming chair. Many cheap gaming chairs won’t sacrifice quality just because of their price tag, and any of the models we tested are more than acceptable options to game in.

Support/Comfort – It’s no secret that sitting down for long periods of time can lead to a LOT of back discomfort. For those of us that binge on our gaming (we’re talking 6-8 hour sessions here), it’s important that we’re sitting in something that keeps our back supported and comfortable. Ergonomics is at the top of the list of things you should look for, which is a fancy way of saying “comfort.” Make sure that your chair comes with head and back support, as well as arm rests.

We tried all of these chairs myself, each one offers something a bit different than the other, but all of them will get the job done. And by job, we mean providing comfort and support for any sort of marathon gaming activity you can think of. It’s worth mentioning that it doesn’t even need to be limited to purely gaming; we’re sitting in one as we write this now….(our backs are thanking us).

If you’re someone who thinks using a simple office chair while gaming is fine, let us tell you that making the switch has made a world of difference in our comfort level and gameplay. The important thing to remember is that price tag doesn’t mean you’ve sacrificed quality. All of the gaming chairs above are priced under $100, and all of them held up against any test we threw at them.
